Crush

Yesterday while volunteering in Cael's class, I was sitting over by Cael and a partner he had picked to play a game. I have heard the name Taegan a ton, and I knew that Cael thought she was cool stuff. He chases her all around, and everytime I am in the classroom, he is always doing things with her. And let me tell you, he knows how to pick 'em!!! She is a total doll! By far the cutest girl in the class. They are good little buddies. Well, the girl at the table with them says to me, "Cael has a crush on Taegan!" Poor little Taegan about died and says, "No!" and Cael just looks at her and me and shakes his head yes, and says, "Yeah, I do!" Taegan wanted to just crawl out of her skin I could tell. I said, "It's so fun to have friends that are boys and girls huh! You guys are good friends and you're lucky to know each other!" Cael just shakes his head up and down and Taegan totally relaxes and shakes her head and smiles at me. I felt so bad for her, but I thought it was so cute that Cael was not afraid. Cute now, not so much in 2-3 years when he has no problem. It's so innocent now! Cael is going to be a tough one! He is so confident and independent, and unafraid! I love him to pieces that little bug!

Ants

Colby has been really sick the last few days. I keep telling him that we are just resting and killing all the sick bugs in his body. We have watched WAAAAAAAY too many episodes of Curious George! Tonight while saying his prayers, he says, "Please make sure Heavenly Father doesn't allow anymore ants to get into my body to make me sick." and then he goes on with other things in his prayer. Oh my gosh it took everything I had not to bust out laughing mid prayer. He must think that sick bugs are ants, and he was sure that he did not want them back in his body. So funny how kids misunderstand the weird things us adults say. I love my little rascals!!!

Knives

Carson got knives for Christmas from Papa. He is pretty dang stoked about them. We have them stored in a separate location from the families knives, to make sure no one else uses them. The other night Cars asked if he could make dinner to try out his new knives. I am no idiot... I said SURE! I asked him what he would be making, and he said tacos. He cut up everything himself, made the tortillas, set the table, the whole works. It was awesome. And what did I do, mother of the year? I sat and did a puzzle while he cooked. It was so cool. I love the stage they are in. They still like us, but they are independent and fun.
Tonight Carter asked if he could make the salad. I told him that was fine. Cars wanted to cut up the fresh veggies for dinner (I NEVER thought I would make a salad and have fresh veggies at meals. I was lucky to get dinner made at one point!) so he says to Chet, "Hey dad! Do you want to see my knives in action!?" He was so proud. I love my little family!!!
