Obese

Tonight at dinner I was telling Chet that I had read that obese children would earn less money, and that I was surprised by that. Carter asked what obese meant. I said severely over weight. Carter was like, "Uh...Duh!!!" I asked why that was so obvious. And this was his reasoning! "There are only two kinds of jobs for teenagers. They can work fast food or manual labor." Chet said that doesn't mean a kid will be obese. Carter, totally bugged, says with tons of attitude, "Is a fat kid going to push around a lawn mower? No! He's going to work fast food where he can get his fries half off!" I thought I was going to die! Carter, still totally bugged, said, "Mom. That should not make you almost pee your pants! That's just logic." (His new word, that might get shoved down his throat if he asks his dad again if he has any logic... not a good thing to ask Chet with more attitude than we thought humanly possible.) It is a good thought though. I might have to agree. Heavy kids are probably more likely to do a job that doesn't include manual labor. Not that I would ever put that on some public forum! I would get death threats for sure!
