Things I Know

There are a few things that I know for sure. I know that Carter and Carson have a little trigger point on the back of their heads, and the pillow hits that trigger point when their head hits the pillow. The minute they lay down for bed, they have to poop. And heaven forbid we lay in bed and wait for my brother to be finished. Instead we sneak into the shower and have a party while the other one poops. Yum, yum! Cadens trigger point is in butt and it is triggered by his dinner chair and the moment his ears hear it's time to say the dinner prayer. Also I know that kids have some inate personality triat that sees mom and dad eating dinner, and they just have to touch you. They cannot successfully eat their dinner unless they have touched you enough times. They also have to yell loud enough that the neighbors all know that we are eating, or their bodies just aren't in the mood to eat. Not to fear though, they accomplish this EVERY.SINGLE.NIGHT, so they are not starving. Also, after they are done eating, it is mandatory to sit on mom or dads lap. However, they have a very mean mom, so dad gets every boy every night on his lap the minute, no the second, he is done eating. That is all...(It's been a GREAT night! I love being a mom, I love being a mom (I keep telling myself this tonight!!!))

Poor Cars, Smart Teacher

The boys went on a field trip today to watch a high school play. I was asking Carson how it went and he was telling me about it, and telling me who he sit next to. In Gillette, and maybe everywhere I don't know, they have special needs kids sent to one particular school for their need. My boys school is the hearing impaired school for Gillette. I asked Carson why he had sit next to the girl that he had, and he tells me that his teacher had assigned seats. The poor little boy, Carson, that cannot help talking (he gets it from his mother) was sitting by all of the def kids in his class. Chet and I laughed so hard and we knew EXACTLY why that was his assigned seat. It is genetic, he cannot help it!!!

Awww, Melt My Heart

I am completely aware that every kid loves their mom. They all think that they have the best mom ever. But it still melts your heart everytime they tell you. Today I was getting Cael and Colby out of the car. I grabbed Colby and told Cael to jump in my arms. He grabs on to me like I was his life saver. I said, "How did I get so lucky? I am so lucky!" Cael then looks right at me and says, "Yeah. I am too. You are the best mom. I love you!" He is so sweet! On a side note, he was watching Wonder Pets this morning and came to tell me that movies make him sleepy. I was on the phone and so I didn't do anything, I just thought he would lay and watch the movie. About 10 min later I couldn't find him anywhere (I was cleaning the kitchen talking and he was in my room watching) I was running all over the house yelling his name, checking the doors to see if they were unlocked, looking in the entertainment center, everywhere!!! Finally as I am about to start to cry I look under Caden's bed, and there he is, sound asleep. My heart about didn't make it through that one!

My Litte Sweetheart

Last night was one of those nights...PIZZA NIGHT! Cael said to me in the most precious, sweet voice that he could possibly muster as well as enough enthusiasm for 10 comments, "Thank you for buying this pizza mom!" He then squinted his eyes at me like he knew he had just said something wonderful. Sometimes he is so cute I could just kiss him little cheeks right off!!!

ER Visit

Most nights for us are a little crazy, followed by more crazy. Well, tonight we had finished up dinner, cleaned up the house a little, and we were settling in for a family movie night. I went to change some laundry, and while I was in there, Chet came running into the kitchen and grabbed a paper towel. I go over to see what was wrong, and he was taking the paper towel off of Colby's pinky finger. The finger tip was just hanging there. It was pretty dang nasty!!! Mom is not good at these things. Chet went out to start getting him in the car and I ran to get the neighbor girl. We drove to the ER, which I must say was really impressive! I don't know if we were a "priority" case or what happened, but they were moving. These are just a few shots from after the stitches were done. I wish I would have thought to take some while they were stitching. They swaddled him in this little blanket thing (made for that I assume) and Dad held him down. He screamed bloody murder the whole time, but now is FAST asleep in his bed with a sock over his hand. I had just told my home teachers Sunday that we do call for blessings whenever they are needed. We are not afraid. He was nice and came right over! Even though my baby cut off his finger tip, I feel so blessed for so many reasons. 1) The thought of where to take him or how to pay for it never came to mind. We live in America with great health care, and Chet and I are prepared for an emergency. 2) Chet is amazing!!! I love that man with everything in me. Great dad, great husband, and great man overall. 3) And most of all I am thankful for prayer and the priesthood that can calm me in my state of panic. Now that it's over, it doesn't seem as scary, but in the moment, I'm not going to lie, I was scared!!! I really do love my life, even if sometimes it gets a little crazier than crazy!
