Mothers Day 2012

Why is it that Mothers Day and your birthday seem to be the worst days ever. I think because our expectations are so high to have a nice peaceful, loving, appreciated day...full of fun, relaxation, and appreciation, only to find that you are still in reality, and that you have to wait a few more years to have that kind of day. Today, I did not have many expectations. Last night I had a good friend, Megan, from my ward drop by flowers to tell me happy mothers day. That started it all off great. Chet got up with the kids and had no early morning meetings, so he let me sleep until 10. Then, he stayed home with two sick babies and let me go to church. When I got home he had cleaned the kitchen and made a full dinner, including making me some of Sarah's rolls. The boys showered me with all of their homemade mothers day gifts, which were pretty cute, I must say. The boys made me snow globes in scouts. They are really cool!!! Then at dinner Chet asked each boy to tell me what they loved most about me. I must first tell you that Chet said what he loved most about me was that I was home every day for them when they got home from school. He loves that I dedicate my life at this time to raising them. Then Cael says, "My favorite thing about mom is that she takes me to the play area!"  The funny thing about that is that it is a daycare place at the gym. I take him there for 2 hours most weekdays, while I work out. Chet loves that I don't take them to daycare, and Cael loves most that I do! That seems like a no win!!! Haha, luckily Chet is good with me taking them there, as they love it and the girls are really cute that babysit in there. Carter loves that I keep the house clean, Carson loves that I take him around every week on his paper route so that he can make money, and Caden loves that I let him play with his friends outside. Kind of interesting the things they say. I told them what I love about them. Carter that he is sooooo much like his dad. He loves to take care of me, and it truely hurts him if I am sad. Carson that he teaches me sooooooo much about myself. He says the phrases I say, has the attitude I have, and really gives me a mirror to see myself. I love his spunk and crazy in him. Caden that he tells me that he loves me more than all the other 5 boys in the house put together. He is always kissing me on the cheek and telling me that he loves me.  He is extremely genuine when he expresses his emotions, and he truely loves from the bottom of his heart, a heart the size of Texas. Cael for the excitement he has in everything he says. The neighbor always tells me that she wants to "gobble him right up" and that sums it up pretty good. He has so much joy for EVERYTHING. He is always fisting up his hands and pulling them back and saying "yesssssssss!" to everything I agree to. Like, "Mom, can I have a drink of water?" me: "Sure." Cael: "yesssssssss!" So cute and excited for life! And Colby. Colby is so cute. He is in a really fun stage. (unless you are at church. 17 mo old is not fun at church!) He is becoming a boy. I love how he is a copycat right now. The boys were all kneeling around the ottamon (sp?) and so he was right there looking at them so that he could do the exact same thing. I love how he runs behind the boys talking a million words a minute, but you cannot understand any of it. He loves routine. When it's bedtime or naptime we pick him up and say its ni-night time and he puts his head right on your shoulder and snuggles in. Then you sing him one song and down he goes. Rarely ever makes a peep (until hours later, he still wakes up about 5 times a night, I just don't ever go in. He just moans and groans and goes back to sleep!) They are all so cute, in their own unique way!!!
