Colby's Wit

So we tell everyone that Colby is super witty but then can never remember the things he says. He is so dang funny. He has mastered the art of delivery too. A common occurrence in my house is the boys competing on EVERYTHING! Carson said to one of his brothers, you cant do jack squat, at which time Colby stands up completely straight faced and does a perfect squat just like he has a bar across his shoulders and said, "that was a "Jack" Squat" (because we all call him Colby Jack and sometime just Jack). We all stood there for a minute like what just happened and then we all lost it.

The other night he asked me to make him a burger. Chet and I were working in the backyard and the boys were on a campout. I said sure and washed up and made burgers and put them on the grill and went back to working in the yard. About 30 min later Colby asks me if we are still having burgers. Needless to say they were crispy critters. So today he asks me make him these little pizza bites. We have never had them before so I wasn't sure how to cook them. I put them in the microwave for 1 min and went back to cleaning the kitchen. About 10 min later he comes back with his friend and asks if lunch is ready. I say Oh crap I forgot about them in the microwave, I need to flip them and cook them a little longer. He says under his breath with all kinds of attitude, "Good thing they aren't burgers!" I was half mad but couldn't help laughing too. I said, "hey buddy that was a low blow" while laughing and he just gets this face like I had just said something stupid.

Those are the only ones I can remember right now. I need to start updating again. Cael and Colby are in the stage that Carter and Carson and Caden were when I started this. There is plenty of information to write about!

  1. One of the reasons I began blogging in 2007 was to remember the funny things my kids say. Won't it be so fun to have Colby read some of the things you write down to his own kids? "Hey, guys, I was a funny kid when I was your age!" I love when my kids say something fun, and when I remember to write it down to remember later.
