2014

This entire Christmas break we have been fixing up a rental house to put on the market (YAH!!!) The boys have been coming with us and spending a lot of time doing things that they DO NOT want to do. I think that I have hard workers, and they did a lot, but it got old really fast. Cars has been telling me for a while now that he is NOT going to college. Chet and I don't think that college is for everyone, and we tell him that is fine. He can do lots of other things, or trade school, or whatever. But we remind him college is the easiest way to care for a family. Well, after some time he comes into me and plops his head down on the window sill and with all kinds of drama tells me that he WILL be going to college, because he will NOT work like this for the rest of his life. I laughed and laughed. Then, he was helping me scrub the most disgusting tub ever! After he was sweating and breathing hard, he looks at me and says, "If my wife does not know how to clean, she will not be my wife. She is out!" That got me to thinking about how as kids, we all have things that we say we will never do... or always do... or be.. or whatever the case. When looking at all of Chet's papers from school he always said he wanted to be a race car driver or a doctor. I thought it would be fun to keep track of my kids things. I think it will be fun to look back at how they change. Not to ever tell them I told you so... but just to see how they mature and develop, ya know! So, here they are:

Carter (9):
Best Friend - everybody
When he grows up - orthodontist
Where he hopes to go on a mission - on a coast
Color - green
Goal this year - straight A's (again and forever)
# of kids - 5
Most import. wife trait - clean
Best about mom - makes him breakfast
Best about dad - says prayers with him every night
(Note: Carter is friends with everyone! He is very thoughtful and a very serious boy)

Carson (9):
Best Friend - Dymon
When he grows up - Cop
Where he hopes to go on a mission - Spanish Fork, UT
Color - blue
Goal this year - read 4 chapter books
# of kids - 5
Most import. wife trait - that she lets him take care of her
Best about mom - buys/makes him good snacks
Best about dad - lets him ride the 4 wheeler
(Note: Dymon is the only boy to date Cars has gotten into a punching fight. He wants to be a cop because of the adrenaline rush described as never knowing what was going to happen next and that makes your heart beat really fast, being a teacher wouldn't cause that. He is in LOVE with Spanish Fork right now and IDOLIZES his cousin Taylor. I have no idea where his fav wife trait came from. He's all about the food! and motorized vehicles right now!)

Caden (8):
Best Friend - Zeb
When he grows up - professional hunter
Where he hopes to go on a mission - Casper or Laramie
Color - black and orange
Goal this year - Get Allysa H to like him
# of kids - 3
Most import. wife trait - clean and good with money
Best about mom - cleans the house
Best about dad - plays football with him
(Note: Zeb is all he talks about, and girls. He LOVES to shoot his bow. If he cannot stay with mom and dad, I guess he wants to stay where there is family for his mission (too dang cute!!!) Allysa H doesn't like him and it might be the first girl ever to give him the cold shoulder and it KILLS him (she is SUPER cute and fun too) He is a total pig so needs a wife to be clean and he sucks with his money.)

Cael (5):
Best Friend - Hannah
When he grows up - a Dad
Where he hopes to go on a mission - Casper
Color - red
Goal this year - do more art
# of kids - 12
Most import. wife trait - does laundry
Best about mom - makes his bed
Best about dad - goes to work everyday for us
(Note: The neighbor girl Hannah is his highlight of his day. She is more than adorable and he wants her to be his wife. I hope she likes to do laundry, because with his 12 kids, that's all she'll do!)

Colby (3):
Best Friend - Cael, Tommy, Kate
When he grows up - Be a worker
Where he hopes to go on a mission - Play area
Color - orange
Goal this year - get another dirt bike, go to school
# of kids - 3
Most import. wife trait - that shes a princess
Best about mom - takes him shopping
Best about dad - takes him swimming
(Note: Colby is just too cute! He is so young it's hard for him to answer these questions yet! But he just turned 3 and loves to hold up 3 fingers. I think that's where the 3 kids came from!)

It'll be fun to see next New Year what they say!!! My goal is to write them every year!
